April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. Ross is among a few women beach volleyball athletes who be able to do so. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside April Ross in Tokyo in order to claim her third gold medal in the next few days. Ross hopes to win her Olympic debut gold, but she's also hoping to win greater. At 39, this could be her last chance to take home an Olympic gold. The athlete is optimistic she can achieve top honors. If we perform at our very highest or do well, I believe we can get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. That's why I'm taking some luck too. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area with her family. Her athletic career began at Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of sports. While a prep student she played the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running track. But she stood out during this game. Her college biography states that she played outside of the hitter middle blocker, and setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. To honor her achievements, she received the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. Her skills in volleyball won her the Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman are performing their roles from the year 2017. However, Ross was an important player in the beach volleyball scene before the pairing. She has won major competitions with different players. The other is an icon in the volleyball world. In the period 2007-2013 she played together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy's teammate Ross, who won the world title together with Kessy in 2009, was also a major force on international stage. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team along with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement when she retired. They went on to compete for the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a student athlete for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She played in high school, as well as some years before she hit the beach as a professional. It was a successful performance for Ross during her time at the school. As a freshmen in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. Additionally, she was a key player in helping the Trojans make their way to the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss in her sophomore year, but she still repeated in the ranks of an All-American. In her last two years she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and won consecutive national titles. She was a great volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross was a major in the field of international relations in USC. Margie Ross did not get to see Ross achieve beach volleyball's top level. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Ross is still awed by her mother who died. Margie is a source of inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beaches.
