Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host and owner of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Her move from Greece to England at the age of 16 and earned an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it before the age of 21. After her graduation, she was a well-known conservative syndicated journalist. In the years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political scene. Her popularity helped her to convince several stars to voice their views on current events, political and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 after she decided to stand independently in the California recall vote to succeed then Governor Davis. She also headed the Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their list and in the same year Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. In 2012, she became the President of AOL's media group. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and journalist. She was extremely close to her father, but it was her relationship with her mother that has shaped her. Through her early years, she exhibited leadership skills for which she is still well-known. At the age of 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the colleges debating societies, where she eventually became its first foreign and female president. In 1972, she earned a Masters in Economics. Her career as TV host and journalist began after she graduated. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editorial assistance.
