Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna was a part of Maluma on Medellin. At the time of 2020, some reggaeton musicians were unhappy with their genre's shift towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation namely Rauw Alejandro, sought to keep reggaeton evolving. It often featured elements from different genres as well as electronic dance.
